Quantity Surveyor

About the role

Our client, a structural steel fabrication company in Bengaluru, is hiring a Quantity Surveyor for its metal fabrication and erection works at construction sites. This is a permanent position for a QS with 2–3 years of experience in fabrication quantities, measurements and billing. Candidates with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering are preferred; Civil Diploma holders with fabrication QS experience will also be considered.

Key responsibilities

• Quantity take-off of steel and metal fabrication items from fabrication and shop drawings
• Preparation of BOQs and steel weight / tonnage calculations
• Measurement of fabricated and erected work at site and in the workshop
• Preparation of client and subcontractor bills for fabrication and erection
• Material reconciliation of steel sections, plates, bolts and consumables
• Coordination with the fabrication shop, site engineers and project team on quantities and variations

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (preferred), or Diploma / B.E. in Civil Engineering
• 2–3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in structural steel / metal fabrication
• Ability to read fabrication and shop drawings and calculate steel weights
• Good knowledge of BOQ, measurements and billing
• Working knowledge of MS Excel and AutoCAD
